We want to make you aware of 3 calendar changes approved at the March 3, 2026 Board Meeting.
To restore instructional time lost due to weather closures and to ensure TCS meets the minimum 1,025 required instructional hours (while maintaining flexibility for any additional unforeseen closures):
1. March 11, 2026 Early Release Day is converted to a full instructional day.
2. The school day is extended by 30 minutes beginning March 23, 2026, and ending the last student day.
3. June 11 and June 12, 2026, are now designated as Optional Teacher Workdays.
Guiding Factors for These Decisions:
Closure days were designated as “no leave required” days; therefore, two additional workdays must be added to maintain the required 215-calendar day schedule.
Minimize disruption to Spring Break.
Avoid implementing Saturday school.
Provide teachers the opportunity to fulfill contract days without requiring leave without pay.
