Teacher Bio

 Hi,

I am Barbara J. Elam, and I am excited to be working with your child this year. This is my 18th year as a 5th grade teacher.  I previously taught in Lexington City and Guilford County school systems. I began my career in education as a volunteer briefly, before becoming a Teacher's Assistant.  I served as a TA for one year, before moving lateral entry as a classroom teacher. I live in Lexington with my husband. Together, we have four grown sons and a granddaughter and a grandson.
